THE DESK MEETS THE DIMENSIONAL REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH EN 527-1:2011
Melamine desktop
Desktop made with particleboard (density 720 kg/m3, formaldehyde emission class E1, reaction to fire performance class “D-s2, d0”) with a thickness of 18 mm, faced with reflection-free melamine resin and edged with ABS trims (thickness 2 mm, rounded edges). The desktop has threaded inserts to fasten the structure and the screens. The desktop is fastened with screws to the brackets and to the lateral supports of the legs. Both the brackets and the lateral supports create a space of 5 mm between the legs and desktop. Desktop standard height from the floor is 740 mm.
Beams
Every desktop is supported by 2 longitudinal beams (1 for desktop with a depth of 420 mm), made from steel tube with a squared section (45 x 45 mm) and a thickness of 1,5 mm, with rounded edges. They are fastened to the brackets of the legs. The beams have lateral loopholes, used to couple modesty panels, cable duct and returns. The returns are equipped with a bracket (99,5 x 44,7 x 48,5 mm) to be inserted in slits in the desk’s beams. The bracket serves also as a support for the return’s beams.
Bridge ending leg
Made from a steel tube with a squared section (45 x 45 mm) with a thickness of 1,5 mm with rounded edges. The tube is laser-cut, folded and welded, forming 2 lateral uprights joined together with a beam. The leg is provided with a couple of U-shaped brackets (95 x 103,5 x 47,2 mm) made with a metal sheet (thickness 2 mm), used as a support for the beams and to hold up the worktop. Supports, made with steel with a thickness of 5 mm and welded to the ends of the beam of the leg, hold up the desktop. In the support leg for service units, instead of the steel supports, there are ABS supports to hold up the top. All metal parts are epoxy-coated. The lower ends of the leg are provided with steel feet (ø 45 mm) coated with polyethylene. The feet are screwed in supports inserted into the lower part of the leg. Each feet allows a height adjusting of +15 mm.
Ring ending leg
Closed leg composed of an upper beam, a lower beam and 2 vertical uprights. The upper beam is made from a steel tube with a squared section (45 x 45 mm) with a thickness of 1,5 mm with rounded edges. The lower beam and the 2 lateral uprights are made from a single steel tube with a squared section (45 x 20 mm) with a thickness of 2 mm with rounded edges. All parts are laser-cut, folded and welded forming a closed structure. The leg is provided with a couple of U-shaped brackets (95 x 103,5 x 47,2 mm) made with sheet metal (thickness 2 mm), used as a support for the beams and to hold up the worktop. Supports, made with steel with a thickness of 5 mm and welded to the ends of the beam of the leg, hold up the desktop. In the support leg for service units, instead of the steel supports, there are ABS supports to hold up the top. All metal parts are epoxy-coated. The lower beam is provided with 2 steel feet (ø 30 mm) coated with polyethylene and screwed in threaded inserts. Each foot allows a height adjusting of 10 mm.
Middle leg
The leg is made up of a rectangular frame (690 x 94 mm), made with steel tube segments with a squared section (45 x 20 mm) with a thickness of 2 mm and rounded edges, cut to 45 degrees and welded to each other. At the center of the frame there are 2 vertical uprights, made with steel tube with a squared section (45 x 45 mm) with a thickness of 1,5 mm and rounded edges. Each upright of the leg is provided, in the inner part, with slits, which allow the insertion of a removable carter to cover the cables. The distance between the edge of the desktop and the frame is 55 mm. The leg is provided with a couple of U-shaped brackets (294 x 103,5 x 47,2 mm) made with metal sheets (thickness 2 mm), used as a support for the beams and to hold up the worktop. Every bracket has a double housing for the beams. Each housing has a second fastening position for the beams and the desktop which allows to eventually insert a central profile and add a lateral dividing screen. The leg has also 4 ABS supports, 2 for each side, fastened to the central frame, to support the desktops. All metal parts are epoxy-coated. The lower ends of the leg are provided with steel feet (ø 45 mm) coated with polyethylene. The feet are screwed to polyethylene supports inserted into the lower part of the leg. Each foot allows a height adjusting of +15 mm.
Modesty panel
Modesty panel made with particleboard (density 720 kg/m3, formaldehyde emission class E1, reaction to fire performance class “D-s2, d0” / “Class 2”) with a thickness of 18 mm, faced with reflection-free melamine resin and edged with ABS trims (thickness 2 mm, rounded edges). The modesty panel has threaded inserts to fasten the brackets. The brackets are made with epoxy-coated steel sheets with a thickness of 2 mm. The brackets have hooks for the insertion into the slits of the beams of the desk. Between the modesty panel and the beam there is a space of 30 mm to allow cables to pass through. The width of the modesty panel is 200 mm less than the width of the desk (100 mm for each side), whilst the height of the modesty panel is 300 mm.
